If so, you are a prime candidate to become a Blissfield DDA/Main Street volunteer!
We have many volunteer opportunities throughout the year for you to get involved with Downtown Blissfield.
First, we feature an impressive event lineup each year, which includes major events ranging from our annual Tractor Cruise-In to our Yuletide Cheer weekend. We are always looking for volunteers to assist us with these events and volunteering for them is a great way to meet lots of people and make new friends. Volunteering is also a great way to make a positive impact on your community. If you are looking to embark on a great opportunity or have a new idea that we should consider, please you can fill out the Contact Us form!
We also have opportunities to serve on various committees that do important work for our community. These include:
From streetscapes to historic renovations and building facades, the Design Committee works to create a welcoming atmosphere and enhance the look and feel of downtown Blissfield for residents and visitors. The Design Committee meets at 5:30pm on the first Tuesday of every month at the Blissfield Village Hall.
The Commerce Committee works to support local companies through business education, assistance, incentives and property development. It also strives to recruit new businesses that support the economic fabric of downtown Blissfield via market analysis. The Commerce Committee meets at 5:00pm on the last Thursday of every month at the Blissfield Village Hall.
The Events-Outreach Committee handles the nuts-and-bolts, behind-the-scenes stuff that is vital to our success. From fundraising to public relations and volunteer management this committee serves as the backbone to almost all of our DDA events. Working to create a fun and vibrant environment for our residents and visitors alike, this committee uses the unique qualities of the village to showcase our downtown and celebrate our rich history. The Events-Outreach Committee meets at 5:30pm on the third Thursday of every month at the Blissfield Village Hall.
We encourage any interested local high school/college students to volunteer and learn more about our program. The DDA is a supporter of our local schools and will work with area students to engage, learn, and be part of our team!
